Celebrate!

Have you ever not cared what people thought about you and just broke out into dancing in public? What a freedom! I went out with my mother, sister, and her granddaughter. We were waiting to be seated in a restaurant and I noticed that my mother, Kristin (the granddaughter), and I were all bopping to the music. All of sudden me and Kristin looked at each other and just started dancing away. Of course people were looking at us, but they all smiled. Perhaps thinking that they would like to join us. Did you see "Footloose"? The part where Kevin Bacon explains that David (in the Bible) danced to celebrate life means a lot to me. Dancing is a celebration. It's also fun. It doesn't matter what you look like, just move your body. You will experience exhilaration. Maybe if we all did more of that, there would be happier people in the world. Come on, celebrate, dance to the music. Hmmm, where have I heard that before?

I never knew you had a blog... I had to smile when I read this post. Ryan and I were going thru music a few weeks back trying to figure out what him and I will dance to as our first dance as husband and wife. We then started talking about the song you and him will dance to for the mother/son dance and he said he wanted to dance to "You Say It's Your Birthday". I had to chuckle because you played that song for Logan when we were visiting and I could see what joy this brought to your family... one simple tradition and it's something Ryan will remember forever.
