Time to try a blog
I've always been interested in writing, thought this would be a good place to practice. Don't know that anyone but me cares what's going on in this head, but it could make for some interesting conversations if you don't agree.
The older I get the more I realize just how much parents screw up their kids. We all think we are the coolest, hippest, not doing it like my parents did, but in reality, dysfunctional is the norm. If you think you know someone who has it all together, you just don't know the inner workings of their family life. I often wonder why God made us so we could reproduce at such a young age, when you need the wisdom of having lived to be able to raise the children right. I guess because by that time, you don't have the energy. I look at things in my make-up that I know came from my parents, and wish I could change them, but alas, they are part of me. I look at things in my children, that I know are there because of how we parented and wish I could change them, but alas, they are who they are. We are young and stupid when we forever make our children who they will be for all eternity. There must be a reason for this. I love how my children turned out. They are individuals, which was one of our goals. Definately don't follow the crowd, unless they like the crowd. However, there are things I would do differently, if I knew then what I know now. Oh well, I blame my parents for all the good and bad that I am, so it's OK for them to blame me.
